Rangers News Views is an independent supporter-run publication covering Glasgow Rangers and Scottish football. Our aim is to provide accurate, fair and clearly labelled coverage that reflects the interests and concerns of Rangers supporters.
1. Purpose of Our Coverage
Our content focuses on:
- Rangers news and developments affecting the club
- Match reaction, analysis and tactical discussion
- Transfer talk, squad building and contract situations
- SPFL and wider Scottish football context
- Opinion pieces written from a Rangers perspective
We are not affiliated with Rangers FC and operate independently as “The Rangers News Views Team”.
2. News vs Opinion
Where possible, we distinguish clearly between:
- News coverage – based on verifiable information from reputable sources, official club statements or on-the-record reporting.
- Opinion and analysis – clearly framed as supporter views, tactical breakdowns or editorial comment.
Most articles on Rangers News Views are opinion-led, and this is reflected in our page titles, descriptions and category structure.
3. Sources & Verification
When we refer to external information, we prioritise:
- Official club channels and competition organisers
- Credible broadcast and written media outlets
- Directly observable match events and statistics
We do not present social media speculation, unverified rumours or anonymous tips as confirmed fact. Where a story is speculative or based on reports elsewhere, we make this clear in the wording.
4. Use of Fan-Submitted Content
Rangers News Views publishes supporter-generated articles and submissions. These are:
- Edited for clarity, safety, accuracy and compliance with our policies
- Checked for defamatory language, personal attacks or discrimination
- Reviewed for factual clarity where specific claims are made
We reserve the right to refuse or edit submissions that do not meet our editorial standards.
5. Accuracy, Updates & Corrections
We aim to be accurate at the time of publication. When new information emerges or an error is identified, we update the relevant article as soon as reasonably possible.

6. Conflicts of Interest
The Rangers News Views Team does not accept payment to promote specific transfer stories, agenda-driven narratives or unlabelled advertising content. Sponsored content, if used in future, will be clearly identified as such.
Contributors are expected to declare any relevant conflicts (e.g. employment, commercial relationships) that could reasonably affect how readers interpret their coverage.
7. Respectful Coverage
We do not tolerate content that is:
- Defamatory or malicious
- Targeted at individuals with abuse, harassment or hate speech
- Discriminatory on the basis of race, religion, gender, sexuality or other protected characteristics
Strong football disagreement is part of the game; targeted abuse and discrimination are not.
