I’ll be straight with you: a pal is about to go into what could be a very dangerous operation and I’d like to get some short video messages from people he admires. He’s been told the lump on his leg is now hard and sits between two main arteries; they’ll try to drain it but there’s a real risk he could lose the leg and complications could be serious. I’m wrecked about it — and proper guilty because of a daft joke I made months ago.
What I’m asking for
Simple request. If anyone has a way of contacting former players, current players, or club figures who might be willing to record a 20–30 second message wishing him well, it would mean the world. Nothing fancy — just a quick “get well soon” or a bit of encouragement. He’s not into social media, but a short video from someone he respects could lift him in a way words from me won’t.
Why this matters
To be fair, it’s not about fame or anything daft. It’s about human kindness. Been a rough few days. You can imagine the fear when they talk about arteries and the possibility of losing a limb. I worked at Ibrox as a chef once, so I used to know people, but there was a big staff overhaul and I’ve lost those contacts. That’s why I’m asking here — the forum's a small family at times like this.
How you can help
If you’ve got a contact or a route to get a short video, please DM me the best way to pass it on. If you can’t help directly, a share of this post might reach someone who can. I’ll be grateful for any pointers — and I’ll pass on all the messages to him so he knows people are thinking of him. Thanks in advance, genuinely.
