To be fair, Chermiti already feels like a different class to Dessers. I loved big Dessers, but Chermiti's blend of technique and movement gives him an edge that’s hard to ignore this season.
Why Chermiti stands out
Chermiti isn't just about physical presence; he's clever with the ball, times his runs and links play in ways that suit our style. You can see him dropping between the lines, dragging defenders and combining in tight spaces. That kind of technique makes him more than a brute forward — he can create as well as finish. Staying at Rangers this season would give him the platform to show that on a week-to-week basis.
What he brings compared to Dessers
Big Dessers had power and deserved credit for his hold-up and goals. But Chermiti adds a different dimension: mobility, quick interplay and an eye for a pass. It's not to knock Dessers, more to say the two are different profiles and right now I prefer what Chermiti offers. You watch him and think about new angles to attack, especially when defenders have to respect his movement off the shoulder.
Why staying matters
Continuity is massive. If Chermiti remains with us for the campaign he can build partnerships, adapt to the manager's demands and get a real rhythm. Young forwards improve fastest when they play regularly and get confidence from the supporters. For me, that could be the season he announces himself properly — player of the year talk isn't daft if he puts a run together. Truth is, you can see why some folk still back Dessers, but the potential on show with Chermiti is hard to argue with.
How supporters should view it
Don't get carried away, no single player wins seasons on their own. Chermiti will need service, good midfield control and a manager who trusts him in different systems. But when you get excited as a fan, it's for a reason. I've seen enough glimpses to believe he can become a main man here. Let's give him the minutes and patience, support when things go wrong and praise when he deserves it. If he delivers regularly, the rest of the league will notice and we'll all be glad we backed him early.
