To be fair, when a notification appears that seems to come from Rangers it's easy to assume it's the real deal. I said on Monday that I'd copied and pasted from what I thought was the club site, and I also mentioned that the player's medical was supposed to be the following day. That all came from what I was seeing on my phone in the moment.
Why I posted — and why I apologised
Someone later pointed out it wasn't on the official website, so I went back and it had gone. That made me wonder whether the announcement had been put up too early and then taken down, or whether I had simply been misled by a notification. Either way, I should have double-checked before copying it across. Apologies to anyone who took it as gospel and to the regulars who expect better from posts on here.
Where things stand and what to expect
I'm still pretty confident the move will be confirmed on the terms I mentioned — a four-year deal for around £7m — but I won't state it as fact. This isn't about saving face; it's about being responsible on a forum where people take news seriously. I'll be more cautious in future and wait for the club site or the official channels before reposting.
