Been away and quiet, but here's a tidy round-up of the transfer noise I've been sent over the last few months. It's all hearsay, a list of names, a couple of bids mentioned and some stronger-feeling links, so treat it as gossip rather than certainty.

Who’s been mentioned

I've been told Dan Neil and Cammy Devlin are still on the radar. James Penrice keeps cropping up, and there's chatter Casper Widell might have attracted a bid. Hampus Skoglund is another name, apparently talks have been ongoing but his club aren't keen to sell while he's tied down to a long contract.

Elliot Watt was mentioned as a possibility at one point, with the story being that interest stalled. That apparently redirected attention towards Vanja Dragojević. Elijah Just from Motherwell was flagged as a live target earlier but the latest I've heard makes that seem less likely.

Other names and context

There's also talk of another centre-back being actively targeted, with two candidates narrowed down according to what I've been told. I can't name them, just that the search is ongoing and that one could still be brought in.

Other links shared with me, and not original to my posts, include Lewis Ferguson and Jens Hjertø-Dahl. On Hjertø-Dahl I heard his club wanted around £8.5 million, though that's second-hand and I can't verify it. Luca Stephenson was mentioned earlier in the window but he has since completed a permanent move to Bolton, so that one looks closed.

Outgoings and mood

On the departures front I've been hearing Danilo, Sterling and Cifu might be on the way out. Again, that's what I've been told rather than anything official. For what it's worth I still think we've the bones of a strong season ahead, whoever ultimately signs or leaves.

I'll be honest, this is the sort of summer where a lot of names get thrown about and a fair few fizzle out. What matters is the profile of signing, are we adding depth, a left-footed centre-back, more cover in midfield, or a young forward to develop? From the names here it feels like recruitment is trying to balance immediate needs with longer-term pieces.

Keep posting what you hear, it's how the site stays alive and gives us something to debate. I'll keep passing on anything else that comes my way, but remember: until something's confirmed by the club, treat it as a talking point, not a done deal.
