Sell or Keep BD?

BD is the sort of player that leaves supporters split: a single standout season in the SPL has got clubs talking and pockets opening, but there is a real argument for hanging on to him. Sell now for a big fee and you might fund a summer rebuild, but keep him and you strengthen the team while giving the player a stage to grow in Europe.

Money now, headaches later

Risk and reward are both obvious. If someone is prepared to pay the sort of money being talked about then it is tempting to take it. But selling brings a chain of problems: you must replace the player, replacements take time to settle, and the market rarely hands over perfect fits on demand. We've all seen how awkward that can be.

Keep for progress and the team

Keeping him also has clear upside. On-pitch value matters. That extra presence in the squad can lift performances, push others on, and change games. If he gets more minutes in the Europa group stage then his stock could rise without us risking a hurried sale. He is on a long contract, which gives the club leverage either to demand more now or to wait for better offers. Prices across the game are rising anyway, so patience has its own logic.

Weighing the risks

There is always the risk that a player does not progress as hoped. That £24m figure might be peak, and if form dips or European nights don't suit him then buyers will pull back. The player's own ambition matters too. Does he want to test himself elsewhere or keep developing with the team? That decision changes everything.

My call

So there isn't a clear right or wrong. Personally, I lean towards keeping for now. The value he brings on the pitch and the chance of further development next season feels more important than a quick profit, at least this season. Sell only if the offer is impossible to refuse, or the club have a ready plan to replace him straightaway.

Either way, the conversation should be framed around football reasons: how the team looks with him, what the finances allow, and where the player is likely to be in a year. Fans can hope for the best, but the sensible call is the one that balances short term need with long term vision.
