Start here. There are clubs in better leagues who will always be able to offer more and a sweeter lifestyle to the players we want. That reality does not make it acceptable for us to limp along with short-term tinkering and half-measures. The last 14 years of upheaval and the revolving door of managers has left the fan base scunnered and rightly demanding answers.

Stop papering over the cracks

We cannot keep slapping a plaster on a big wound and pretending it is healed. Buying a couple of players late in the window or changing managers every season does not fix the underlying problems at Ibrox. The recruitment process, scouting and player retention need a proper framework. You can see why players favour moves to top leagues. We are competing for quality in a market that often moves faster and pays higher wages.

Back the manager and be realistic

At some point the board has to decide whether it wants instant gratification or a sustainable project. Support a manager properly. Give him time and the tools to build. And yes, to be fair, that might mean we do not win the league this season or the next. That is a tough pill to swallow for supporters, but a season or two of structure and sensible recruitment could be worth far more than a risky, expensive gamble that collapses mid-season.

Ask the right questions on Monday

The shareholders' meeting is the moment to demand clarity. Mr Cavanagh and his team should be asked what the recruitment plan actually looks like. How do we address the obvious gaps? Why are we starting consecutive seasons with essentially one left-back and thin options out wide? These are practical questions, not soundbites. We need answers about scouting, budgets and a trackable timeline for improvement.

Truth is, fans will give time if they see a coherent plan and steady progress. We are not going to be the easiest sell anymore, but with patience, better structures and a willingness to think long term, Rangers can rebuild the attraction. The alternative is more of the same. Nobody wants that.
