Quick summary up front: this is all second-hand and should be taken with a pinch of salt. From what came through on a WhatsApp chat last night, there are a few names circled but nothing concrete enough to bank on yet.
Kelsy — wanted but hard to get
First up, the striker named Kelsy. The feeling in the chat was that Rangers want him, but his club are reluctant to lose him and are pushing hard in talks. It sounds like negotiations are ongoing, though there’s a real chance the demands won’t be met. To be fair, you can see why his club would dig their heels in if he’s important to them.
Siquet and the defensive search
Next, Siquet. Contrary to some headlines, the chatter isn’t dead — people reckon we’re still pursuing a move and trying to find common ground with his club. Again, nothing definitive, just movement at the margins. On centre-backs, I heard nothing new. Personally I think we badly need reinforcements there, but there was no tip-off about a specific name.
Loan options — right-back and wide right
There are also a couple of loan-type options being kicked around. A young right-back currently at Aston Villa was mentioned as someone we’ve enquired about, and the consensus was a loan is the likeliest route. Likewise another right-winger is on the radar, again probably on a temporary basis. Loans make sense if the club want short-term cover without committing long-term, and you can see why those conversations happen.
That’s about it from this end. Nothing earth-shattering, just a few threads being tugged at. As always, I’m passing on what I heard rather than claiming any certainty. Take it as an update, not a confirmed shopping list.
