Agents blaming crowd scrutiny for players refusing to join us? I don't buy it. Scrutiny is part of elite football everywhere and hardly a unique bar to entry. The real issue is stability and clear backing from those running the club, and that was the promise when Andrew and the 49ers came in.

Pressure is universal, not a Rangers-only problem

To be fair, fans at Ibrox can be loud and demanding. But then again, fans at every top club can be the same. Media, expectation and results-driven owners pile on the pressure. Saying agents steer players away purely because of fan reaction feels like an easy excuse. The truth is agents look at squad project, pay, playing time and ambition — not just how vocal supporters are on a Saturday night.

Takeover promises vs the managerial merry-go-round

We were told the takeover would bring more stability and a clearer plan. Nobody denies mistakes have been made along the way — the post mentions Martin — but the hope now is that with Rohl in charge, and sensible backing, we can avoid continual upheaval. Managers will always be judged on results here. That comes from fans, yes, but also from those footing the bill. Owners want returns, and rightly expect progress. If the board are consistent and patient then a manager gets a proper chance to build.

Ambition means pressure — accept it and get on with it

Clubs that spend, and those that chase titles, will always operate under pressure. That’s part of being a big club in Scotland. We should stop treating scrutiny as the main barrier to recruiting quality. Instead, focus on the concrete things we can control: recruitment, clarity of vision, backing in the transfer market and giving the manager a real runway to work with. If the 49ers and Andrew deliver on what they promised, then the rest — the noise, the pressure, the inevitable heat — becomes less of an excuse and more just the background to success.

In short: scrutiny exists, but it's not the whole story. Judge the club by its actions, not by the scapegoats.
